A Roman Catholic Canadian's take on faith, law and life
About Me
- Name: Becky
- Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States
I'm a Roman Catholic, Canadian lawyer who recently graduated from University of Notre Dame Law School. About ten years ago I was won over by the love of Jesus Christ in His Holy, Apostolic Church. This blog is dedicated to the quest of integrating Catholicism and the legal profession. It explores the meaning of "law as a vocation" and orthodoxy in the Catholic Church. Actually, that sounds a little too noble - it's just a place to post all of my thoughts and concerns for the day, rather than sending a million links to my friends and family. Enjoy!

If it wasn't tax dollars, it would be health insurance dollars. And if you ask me, I'd say paying for "The Bureaucracy" in general is worse.
Except that government-funding necessarily carries the connotation of approval or sanction. I don't like the health care bureaucracy in the US, but government sanction is a whole different story.
That, and you know it's political when medicaid doesn't pay for your optomitrist appointment, but pays for a guy to get a sex-change.
Yeah, I'm not saying it's not random what is covered.... sounds a lot like the health insurance plan for students at ND...
(except for the sex-change thing... that wouldn't be covered...
Or getting a band-aid for a little boo-boo... that's not covered...)
